Meatballs!

Last week I met an old friend for dinner. We were to meet in Farringdon and go to a restaurant called Meatballs.

My friend, Emma had read about it in the paper that morning and had a fantastic voucher for dinner. Three meatballs of any choice, a side of chips and an alcoholic drink, all for £10.00. Yummy!

After a beer in The Eagle over the road, (where it seems good looking men hang out a lot!) we headed over to the old chop house which is a grade two listed, nineteenth century building which, once upon a time, served good, traditional English food. The majority of the original fittings and beautiful wooden seats have been restored and it is just like stepping back in time. It's beautiful inside.

All of their meatballs are  handmade from high quality natural fed meats supplied by local butchers. They use free range Pork, Orkney Beef and Lamb and Banhams Poultry. On to the choosing.

I picked one of each type. Beef and Ricotta with tomato sauce, Greek Lamb with Cucumber, dill and yoghurt sauce and Thai Chilli Chicken which was a special when I went, but seems to have been put on the menu permanently. Lucky as it was yummy!

I can't recommend this place more. It's a nice quick walk from the station and I enjoyed every bite of everything and the free wine was  pretty good too. Go Go Go!!!
